Distribution: The majority of species occur in the
Oriental region (China, India, Burma, Vietnam, Phillipine
Islands, Sumatra, Java, New Guinea).
Statistics: 1 species in Palearctic region, about 12
species worldwide.
Host Plants: Garuga,
Canarium (Medvedev & Dan Tkhi Dap 1982).
Diagnosis: Body large to very large, elongate,
convex from lateral view. Color yellow to dark reddish
brown, usually with dark spots on elytron.
Head exactly as in Podontia, but eyes very
narrow.
Pronotum wide, deeply emarginate anteriorly, with
several longitudinal impressions and rows of deep punctures.
Procoxal cavity closed behind. Intercoxal prosternal process more
or less narrow, convex, widely explanate posteriorly. Anterior
part of prosternal suture deeply concave, sometimes with marginal
tooth.
Elytra oval, convex, with well developed humeral
calli. Elytral punctures arranged in striae; interspaces more or
less wide, slightly convex. Epipleuron subhorizontal,
concave.
Metafemur with low, obtuse tooth before apex.
Metatibia canaliculate, not straight, with low obtuse tooth
beyond middle, followed by shallow excavation having marginal row
of bristles. Metatibial spine situated laterally. First
metatarsal segment shorter than following two segments combined.
Third metatarsal segment wide.
