Use HTML "TEMPLATES" ! Organize: use CR'S, all-caps, etc.
Test-drive your web site: Use more than one browser/platform. Check tags for typos, extra spaces, missing <'s or >'s
Titles: 8 characters or less with a 3 letter suffix Use GIF89a vs. CompuServe GIF and GIF vs. JPEG
Use horizontal/left justified graphic design Credit yourself and watch out for copyrights! Thou shall not steal!
WYSIWYG/HTML editors should be used secondary to your text editor Use color! If you use a background, don't let it dominate your foreground.
Put images in a folder or directory labeled "images" ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS...HAVE A BACKUP
Use a text editor with a spell check Double check your tags: begin AND end, don't forget your "/"s
Break larger pages into individually linked pages or use horizontal rules Create a "Table of Contents"
Write clearly and concisely: Web-pages should be context-independent Do not overuse emphasis
Simple is always better: Site layout should be consistent Group related information, both textually and graphically
Provide a link back to your homepage Provide alternatives to graphics for text-only browsers
Do not link irrelavent material Keep your graphics as low in memory as possible, use thumbnails
