The genus consists only of 2 species occuring in the Neotropical Region.

Adults have been collected on Acorella.

The genus can be recognized by the following characters: Frons with 1 medioclinate anterior and 3 reclinate posterior orbital setae; antennae separated across midline by broad, flat, median facial carina; face with lower margin and vibrissal angle projected well in front of eye; anepisternum bare; R4+5 and M1 converging near apex.
