With 4 described species Aldrichiomyza is one of the smaller genera of Milichiidae. It belongs into the subfamily Phyllomyzinae and can be found in North America, eastern Asia, and northern Africa up to Israel. The biology is unknown.
The genus can be recognized by a basally thickened arista, which is often densely long-haired.
