The BioSystematic Database of World Diptera is a community effort lead by us. Without the dedication and support of our scientific team, we could not deliver the information that the public wants and needs, so we first and foremost acknowledge all our team members. Facilities and financial support have mainly been provided by our host organization, the Systematic Entomology Laboratory, Plant Sciences Institute, Agricultural Research Service, USDA. Financial support has also been provided by the Schlinger Foundation, without which the WWW interface could not have been completed. The Global Biodiversity Information Facility has provided support for a post-doctoral fellowship (2003-2004) to accelerate the data review process. Elaine B. Jamison, Systematic Entomology Laboratory, deserve special thanks for she has spent much of the past 12 years entering fly names into various computer databases. Thanks are also due to Robert Carlson, who previously maintains our WWW server and connection.

Finally, we thank our spouses for their tolerant understanding of our other passions: flies, names and books.
