Fruit Fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) References

The literature on fruit flies is extensive. More than 5,000 entries were compiled by Carroll et al. (1999) in a bibliographic database that emphasized publications concerning taxonomy and biosystematic data. The Fruit Fly (Tephritidae) Bibliography Database is an updated version of that publication containing additional entries (more than 6,000 total).

A few of the most important taxonomic references on Tephritidae are listed below. The major regional works are cited in the Identification section and the most important publications for individual subfamilies, tribes and genera were cited by Norrbom et al. (1999) under each taxon.
