Funding Sources

Primary funding for this project has come from United States-Israel Binational Agricultural Research and Development Fund (BARD) (Grant Numbers IS-2423-94 and IS-2605-95). Additional funding was supplied by the Systematic Entomology Laboratory to fund an additional computer, and two contracts to enter bibliographic information. The Agricultural Research Service of the USDA provided funding for the technical information specialist Ms. Maren Gimpel. We are most grateful to the The Global Biodiversity Information Fund for providing funds to complete the first round of data entry for all of the scale insects of the world up to 2002. The Animal Plant Health Inspection Service has provided resources to start a LucID expert system on the families of scale insects which will be a new component to the ScaleNet system.
