Meet Yair Ben-Dov

Yair is a Senior Research Entomologist at the Agricultural Research Organization, The Volcani Center, Israel Department of Entomology, Bet Dagan, Israel. His research duties at Bet Dagen involve studies on the systematics, biology, ecology, and control of scale insects and thrips. His main interests include taxonomy, systematics, and nomenclature of the Coccoidea, with special emphasis on the Mediterranean fauna. He worked from 1972 to 1977 on scale insects at the National Collection of Insects, Pretoria, South Africa. During his 35 year career as a coccidologist, he has published more than 120 scientific articles and books.
